The PHNET DNS Hosting Service is designed for educational institutions which do not want to operate their own Domain Name System (DNS) servers. PHNET will maintain and operate the DNS servers for the institution's domain name. For example, if you want to use the domain name theschool.edu.ph, PHNET will operate the DNS servers for this domain. PHNET's DNS servers will be made authoritative for the domain and will be the ones queried by the entire Internet everytime a name under the theschool.edu.ph domain (e.g. www.theschool.edu.ph) is used.

Note that this service is different from the PHNET EDU.PH DNS service. The EDU.PH service is for resolving all the names under the EDU.PH domain name (e.g. theschool.edu.ph). PHNET and only PHNET runs the DNS service for the EDU.PH domain. For an institution to have a valid EDU.PH domain name, it is necessary for the institution to subscribe to the PHNET EDU.PH DNS service.

However, you may obtain DNS Hosting services for theschool.edu.ph from many other companies. Or like many other institutions, you may opt to run your own DNS servers for your own domain name. You are not required to subscribe to this PHNET DNS Hosting Service. If you subscribe to this PHNET DNS Hosting Service, PHNET will be operating the DNS server for your school's domain name.

The following are the steps for applying for a PHNET DNS Hosting service:

Fill up the registration form below to generate a Request Form. The generated Request Form will be immediately e-mailed to Your E-mail Address, as found in the form you filled up.
Reply to the Request Form we e-mailed to you. Fill up that form with the DNS records you wish to register, in the space provided for in that e-mailed form. After we receive this reply, we will mark the new DNS registration as "PENDING." You then have one (1) week to pay the DNS Hosting Fee.

A "PENDING" registration which remains unpaid after the seven-day period is automatically deleted from our databases without any notice.

A "PENDING" registration is activated usually on the same day when all the requirements are fulfilled. The notice of activation is then e-mailed to the domain's administrative and technical contacts.

Your E-mail Address	After you successfully complete this form, the generated form will be automatically e-mailed to this address for verification together with further instructions. New registrants must double-check that they can receive e-mail through this address. (e.g. yourname@yourisp.com)
Complete Domain Name	The complete domain name you intend to register (e.g. school.edu.ph)
School Name	The official name of the school (e.g. The School, Inc.)
Postal Address	The postal address of the school (e.g. Metro Manila, Philippines)


Domain Administrator - Information (Required) The Domain Administrator will be registered as one of the persons authorized to request changes in you school's DNS registration. For this reason, we recommend that you appoint a permanent employee of your school as its domain administrator.

Phone Number	Phone number (e.g. 812-1825)
E-mail Address	The Domain Administrator's e-mail address. PHNET suggests that you consider using an e-mail service that is independent of an ISP. Doing so allows you to avoid inconveniences in your e-mail service if your school changes its ISP. Please do not use a Yahoo mail account because its settings can not be modified and our verification system may reject modification requests from Yahoo accounts. (e.g. adminname@whateverisp.com)


Technical Contact - Information (Required) Because the Domain Administrator may not be a technical person, your school may appoint a Technical Contact who will coordinate with PHNET on your school's DNS registration. This contact person may approve modifications and changes in your domain information.

E-mail Address	The Domain Technical Contact Person's e-mail address. PHNET suggests that you consider using an e-mail service that is independent of an ISP. Doing so allows you to avoid inconveniences in your e-mail service if your school changes its ISP. Please do not use a Yahoo mail account because its settings can not be modified and our verification system may reject modification requests from Yahoo accounts. (e.g. techname@whateverISP.com)
Validation Key	To prevent the abuse of this service we require that you type in the validation key as seen on the left. Please note that the key is case sensitive.
