PHNET SERVICES

Web Hosting Registration Form

The PHNET Web Hosting Service is designed for educational institutions which do not want to operate their own HTTP (Web) servers. PHNET will maintain and operate the HTTP server for the institution's choice of domain name. For example, if you want to have a web server for the given domain name www.theschool.edu.ph, PHNET will configure one of its Web servers to act as www.theschool.edu.ph. PHNET will give you a username and password so that you can upload your files into the designated PHNET web server which will act as www.theschool.edu.ph.

PHNET will not design your website for you. You have to do to that yourself. Once you have designed and built the site, you can transfer all the associated files into the PHNET web hosting server.

This service is dependent on the configuration of the authoritative DNS servers for your domain. In the above example, the DNS servers for the domain theschool.edu.ph have to be configured to point www.theschool.edu.ph to the IP address of PHNET's designated web hosting server. This IP address will be given to you after your application has been approved.

Tech support for this service is only through email. This support is limited to ensuring that the web server is functioning 24x7. It does not include troubleshooting nor debugging the content of your website.

The following are the steps for applying for a PHNET Web Hosting service:
  1. Fill up the registration form below to generate a Request Form. The generated Request Form will be immediately e-mailed to Your E-mail Address, as found in the form you filled up.
  2. Reply to the Request Form we e-mailed to you. After we receive this reply, we will mark the new Web Hosting registration as "PENDING." You then have one (1) week to pay the Web Hosting Fee.
A "PENDING" web hosting application which remains unpaid after the seven-day period is automatically deleted from our databases without any notice.

A "PENDING" application is activated usually on the same day when all the requirements are fulfilled.  The notice of activation is then e-mailed to the administrative and technical contacts.

Visit http://services.ph.net/payment.html for the payment and fax details. Confused? Visit the FAQ Page for more information.
